A friend of mine will be turning 30 in late May. She is considering a tandem jump along with a group of friends. I suggested spending two days at the KSCVC/AHOF and jumping later the second day.
Anyone have experience with this company?

Rob, DO IT!!!!! In Feb. of 2000 my daughter and I did it to celebrate my 45th and her 18th birthdays. We used that company and had a great jump. Make sure you pay the extra charge and get the video. They add a music soundtrack to it and it's very well done. And to think I chickened out on getting a tattoo on my 50th birthday.

I can understand the tattoo thing, as it will always be there. I'd like to, but it's what to get and where to put it!
My 45th will be in October this year so, in addition to my friend's 30th birthday, it would make for a very different kind of birthday celebration for myself.
Thanks for the info!

I used to be a jump plane pilot for a while. Dangerous job, bad pay, but agressive and fun flying! I would dump some static-line jumpers at 3,000 feet, then be back on the ground and sitting on the couch waiting for them when they got back. A 2500+ fpm decent rate will get you that. :-)

You have heard what they say about jumping out of a pefectly good airplane....these weren't pefect planes. So jump!

Many moons ago at Corowa in Australia, I was a trainee Skydiviving judge I got the oppertunity of doing an observation flight in a DH Beaver aircraft that was dropping jumpers of at 10K. What I wasn't told was that I would have to wear a slim pack parachute (Didn't worry me as I had at this stage done 4 staticline jumps and a tandem)But I was given a stool that wasn't attatched to anything to sit on just infront of the roll up door.
Well there I am at 10K on jump run with a video cammera filming these guys diving out of the aircraft when the last one leaves the pilot Banks over on the door side and my stool with me on it heads towards the door at a high rate of knots and all you hear on the video is profanities but just before I would have gone out the door he throws the aircraft into a dive and we land well before the first guys do.

On another occasion I have a photo taken from the front windscreen of a Twin otter aircraft of the green grass as it dove from 15K.

For anyone who wants to skydive I say do AFF or a tandem as you haven't realy jumped from a plane until you have experienced freefall.

Unfortunatly I didn't continue this due to my own lack of confidence in exiting the aircraft but most of the guys who did the course when I did became instructors and one of them even represented Australia at international level
