This is an interesting item on ebay... a glass paperweight that illustrates the planetary arrangement for any day that you request. I would imagine that there is a website where you can see how the planets lined up on a particular day for free. Anybody know of such a site?

Any of the good planetarium software packages - like Starry Night, SkyMap,Distant Suns,Redshift and should let you see the planetary alignments on any date .

I know Starry Nights Backyard and Starry Night Enthusiast does.

Starry Nights Enthusiasts was given away as freeware CD software on the magazine PC Pro January 2005 magazine. This was still out on good newstands in UK earlier this week.
It may be available in USA at good news stands or newsagents or the better bookshops like BArnes&Nobles??

You just set the "viewing date" date into the program and the alignment is then shown.

You can go forward or backwards with dates for most of the above programs. I do this quite regularly - as it happens - as I look at different alignments when Apollo missions and Mars probes were operating.

If you get 'stuck' let me know the dates your'e interested in and I'll run the software and take an image for you

Thanks Phil!

I'm going to check out the magazine rack at the local bookstore tomorrow.
