Just got to thinking about this......I suppose those words mean that there's going to be more Astronaut Classes in the future. I would think that alot of the men and women working for NASA now would be getting on in years by the time the projects get off the ground. Anyone else have a comment or two on this? Mike |

It did occur to me that seeing the Shuttle program is winding down in six years, some individuals that are waiting to be assigned or re-assigned ( I believe Anna Fisher and John Young are still on the Active list.) may have to rethink their careers. If they don't get a Shuttle assignment soon they face more than a six year wait, but possibly a ten year wait if the possibility of a four year development time for new vehicle turns out to be true. I have the feeling NASA might want to get those you haven't flown yet onto those last shuttles, but there are no guarantees. Some may never fly.Cliff |

Well, that's kinda what I was thinking.... the age thing. But just think about it for a second...... could you see John Young going to the moon again?!? I mean that in a good term mind you. But if it were possible, that would be something to see. I can picture him standing there........ "I'M BACK!""""""" Actually, "I'm BACK!!! Now where did I park the Rover last time??"Mikey [This message has been edited by Spaceman_Spiff (edited January 20, 2004).] |
