A book researcher has asked me a question which I don't know the answer to. I figured somebody here might.

Is NASA road #1 perpenticular to Interstate 45 or Interstate 10? Or has it been both, and the freeways renumbered over time?

Thanks,

FF

Interstate 10 is several miles north of NASA Road 1. They don't intersect. They both run West/East.

NASA Road 1 has been renamed NASA Parkway and now runs from State Road 146 (in Seabrook on Galveston Bay) to somewhere to the west in Alvin. Was official on Sept. 1st by a decree of the Texas state legislature. A lot of locals were upset to see the name NASA Road 1 not be the official name anymore. (Including yours truly.) :-(

I just remember that NASA-road 1 was the address to request lithographs. Correct?

The cover of the JSC on-line (internal)phone book still has the address as:
2101 NASA Road 1
Houston, TX
77058-3963

I am *very* sure that even 50 years from now, any mail addressed to any location on NASA Road 1 will get to it's intended recipient. (I live a mile from JSC, so this is a local talking.) No problemo at all.

John Davis, one of our local state reps., got all kinds of angry phone calls and letters over him submitting the name change. (I'm getting older every day, but I think it was done to unify the large nice highway that's running from Seabrook to Alvin.)

So did they change the address then to go with the name change?
