Topic: Photos of Cooper or Carpenter in Apollo suits?

Has anyone seen (or even better got a hi-res scan) of either Gordon Cooper or Scott Carpenter in an Apollo suit? Training, fit-check, anything like that. I figure there has to be some of Cooper from the Apollo 10 backup role but I can't find even one. Carpenter is more of a long shot but I thought I'd ask just in case.Cheers,

Hi Matt,I have a nice black & white 8 X 10 size photo that shows Carpenter, Glenn and Schirra sitting inside of an Apollo CM mock-up. I'd be happy to email that to you in Hi-Res if you like. If anyone does find a Carpenter and/or Gordo photo of them in an Apollo suit, I'd like to receive a copy as well! Best,

For the Gordon Cooper interview article I wrote that appeared in 'Spaceflight' magazine, September 2001 issue, I was able to use a photo of Cooper in Apollo WSS in front of an LM article. If it would be possible to E-mail your hi-res photo of Glenn, Carpenter and Schirra, I'd love to see it. I am at ffrench@rhfleet.org Thank you, FF |

Bruce,I'd be interested in that Glenn-Carpenter-Schirra photo as well. Could you contact me off-list? And I have two different versions of that Cooper Apollo-suit shot, the second one showing Cernan behind him! Ed Hengeveld

Hi FF, Matt & Ed,I will email the Carpenter, Glenn, Schirra photo. I received the photo from Scott Carpenter many years ago and I do not think it is available from any usual sources (Net or book). Best, Bruce |
