Does anyone have any experience with ordering items from FarthestReaches.com? I have sent them an e-mail twice but haven't received a reply.

I've known Steve for a number of years and my dealings with him have always been outstanding. He is a one man operation, with his space business being a part of his daily life. He may take a bit longer to get the item to you, but it's well worth the wait as his attention to detail is second to none. Be patient. Try calling his toll free number(check time difference where you are).

He will eventually answer. And he is great to deal with.

I have bought numerous pieces from Steve and had no problems what so ever. I just, in fact, placed an order with him yesterday. It takes him a few days sometimes to respond to emails but you will be very happy with his items. They come well packaged. Very profesional and knowledgeable!

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate the votes of confidence. It's true my response time to email is often slower than I'd like, but is also true that I'm a one person operation. Farthest Reaches has grown over the years to become much larger then was ever intended or expected. Can't say I'm not pleased, because I am. In fact I'm thrilled and hope to see the growth continue as I strive to be one of the best out there.

I'm reaching a point however, where I'll need some help (unless I make FR my sole focus) to move things to the next level.

Many of you may not know that I've also enjoyed another career path over the past 25 yrs. that keeps me busy during the daylight hours. Then almost like Clark Kent (but not), I become my alter ego and assume my responsibilities as the sole owner of Farthest Reaches Inc. As THAT individual I suspect I spend as much time in a one week period then in my daytime capacity, which is a fact I don't mind since I do enjoy this so much.

Of course, in addition to Farthest Reaches there's the Sim's & Hankow Ent. part of my existance which as some of you might know is responsible for (makes me sound like a criminal doesn't it?) the string of live astronaut appearances via our large scale autograph shows that so many of you have attended.

Anyway, I've discussed the associated dynamics of the business growing as it has with some of my closer dealer friends and have discovered that I'm going through an evolution similar to what others have experienced at this same stage of their development. While hearing this provides some small comfort, it doesn't help me to figure out just how I can squeeze in a few extra hours of sleep Whoever helps me to solve that problem gets a free Neil Armstrong SP.

Well now that you know most of my life's story and in order to be as available as possible, I invite anyone reading this post who would reach me quickly, to use my toll free phone # located on the site (did you actually think I would write this huge post without figuring out some way to drag you to my site?) or even my cell phone # (310) 892-5150. I most often work into the wee hours of the morning at least 6 days per week in order to keep things moving, so feel free to contact me anytime. My European customers can attest to these strange hours as I'll often answer the phone or an email at some ridiclous hour when most would expect me to be sound asleep ).

The point to this long winded post (hey Robert, this could have made an nice interview) is to let you all know that I still maintain my original committment to providing the best quality material, awesome variety, many unique items and to give each of you a personal level of service that is second to none.

Finally Ed, if you're reading this, I'll let you know as soon as it arrives and feel free to contact me in between using any of the above methods. Am always happy to hear from you all and thanks again for such unanimous support....

Steve

Thanks for the lengthy essay, Steve. And all this because I was impatient...
In the e-mail era I become impatient when I haven't received an answer within three minutes. I'll have to relax a little :-)

And I'll be looking forward to news about the Jerry Carr print. One question about that: can I buy a copy WITHOUT the autograph? Yes, without; you must think I'm crazy, but I am not an autograph collector, I just want the photo. Just asking... If not, I'll be happy to take it with autograph. It is a great shot.

Thanks very much,
Ed

Hi Ed,

No problem, but don't consider you impatient at all. Actually, have been meaning to give the group some backround information about Farthest Reaches for some time now. With so many members sharing about themselves on this list it seemed like a good time to give others a chance to know me a little bit better as well. Hope you don't mind that I used your initial post as a springboard...

Hi Steve H.
Keep up the great work.
I know I haven't done any business with you YET,but at least I know I'll be in good hands with the votes of confidence from fellow C/s members here.
As for the extra Hrs sleep the only solution I can think of for you is to wait for MARS to be colonized, the day is slightly longer over there, then set up business at the base of Olympus Mons (cracking veiw).
So Steve if the Armstrong sp out of the question I'll settle for Conrad instead 'lol'.
All the best keep up the good work
Ian.
