Back in 1990 I sent a letter to Mike Lounge as he was preparing for the STS-35 mission. He kindly sent me a flight crew photo signed by all 7 crew members. This photo was very different from the one NASA issued with the crew wearing the orange "pumpkin" suits. In the photo that was sent they are in blue NASA flight suits. Has anyone ever seen that photo? Thanks. Tom |

I have only ever seen the 'orange suit' picture, but the STS-35 crew were initally going to fly pre-Challenger as the STS 6-1E crew. As a result the crew were around for a while and could well have sat for a crew photo in flight suits.Does the picture show the STS-35 crew with Brand and Guy Gardner, or is it an earlier 6-1E photo with McBride and Richards? |

Hi Ken: It has Brand and Gardner and they are all wearing the STS-35 patch. I also have the 61E crew photo with McBride and Richards. Tom |

Well, if anyone manages to get high resolution images of the crews for STS-61E, STS-61F, STS-61G, STS-61H or STS-62A online then please let me know. I would love to be able to print off a decent copy of each one. |

Tom,The number S86 25345 you gave is of the original STS-61E crew portrait in blue flightsuits. I don't know why Mike Lounge would send you that, because he was not part of that crew. Are you sure there isn't another photo number for the STRS-35 crew portrait in blue suits? Ed |

Hi Ed: I'm sorry if I confused you, but I received the STS-35 photo from Mike Lounge (that's the photo with them wearing their blue NASA flight suits with STS-35 patches). This picture, autographed by the entire crew is an 8" X 10" without a white border...no photo number. The STS-61E flight crew photo was sent by Dave Leestma. Tom
