Does anyone know if they are going to have a Spaceflight Awareness Reception down in Florida next week? i went to the one that they had during the STS 109 launch week . What a fun time! met Buzz Aldrin, Eileen Collins, Fred Gregory and about 20 other former and current astronauts. Plus a load of hard working and dedicated NASA employees and their contractors.Saw a great launch as well. I was 0 for 3 before that for launches and 1 for 2 on landings. What a sight it was to see STS 99 land. If you are ever planning on seeing a landing and Ken Cockrell is commanding, head to CA. His last two missions landed at Edwards. My family drove 2 hours up and two hours back for three days only to see his mission back in 2001 land on TV in CA. How about a section in the sighting section or elsewhere were people can show their pictures and tell stories about their astronaut encounters? | |
