Just wondering if anyone had a spare 3 ring binder, or knows where I can buy one ?

I have a couple of NASA publications that I want to keep safe and I cannot find the binders in the UK anywhere. Is it common practise to use 3 rings in the US or is that a NASA (Government Agency) quirk ?

Adam - I've ordered stuff from Light Impressions and the quality has been excellent but they were very expensive to ship the UK and on top I got stung VAT and import duty, VAT on the import duty, VAT on the postage, handling charge, VAT on the handling charge..... anyone would think the government was desperate.
So I alter you that its quite possible that it will be an expensive under-taking to order this way.

they are in Norfolk I think. They sell numerous types of PVC free wallets - in sizes for 10x8's, FDC's, negatives etc. They also sell 3-ring binders. I had the same problem as you, having bought a load of 3 ring wallets in the US. This company stocks exactly the same wallets but also does them in 2-hole I think. You can buy in packs of 25, which works out much cheaper than Jessops.
Give them a call - they were really helpful, even though they are primarily wholesale.
...It's amazing what a little searching on the internet can find!

Just a note to say thanks for the replies. One of the forum members has very kindly mailed me a binder and has offered to aquire more should I need them.

Just shows what great people I share my great hobby with !

In between the post above and this one I lost all data on my PC due to a virus, and cannot remember who the kind soul was who supplied me with a binder, and who's offer of supplying me with more I now wish to take up !

If you are out there kind mystery person please can you contact me !

It was I who sent you the binders. How many do you need? Do you still prefer the smaller 1 inch size or larger? Please let me know. You can send me your mailing address off-list.

Had this problem for years with US publications.

Even there paper sizes are different - bless their little socks :-)).

Most Europe and several countries elesewhere are now A4 or A5 paper sizes etcetera.

I use the plastic covers that have multiple ring holes down left hand size.

I do use the plastic covers for most things, but items such as Apollo mission reports and Shuttle Press Kits tend to have 5 or 3 holes already in them for insertion into binders, they wont fit into the plastic sleeves without removal of the (BIG) staples that tend to be put through the publications.

I know it works out more expensive but I'd rather keep them with the staples in and keep them in the proper binders. I'm worried about trying to get the staples out and damaging the item.
