Hi all, Just had a virus wipe out my computer by deleting sector 0 on my hard drive. Which means as well as losing all my addresses. I have lost over 12,000 Apollo images, 4 Gb of Apollo related PDF'S, all of the Apollo 11 audio, 15 hours of Apollo video and untold more stuff ! (BooHoo) Anyone on the groups etc who I have regular contact with please email me so I can start getting back to normal Happy collecting.....Adam |

It's not funny but ...
You always need to have everything Backed up on CD-ROMs ... Things like this happen ... otherwise stick to the old typewriter ... |

Thanks for the "wise" advice Phillip - however while we SHOULD do things, we dont always - and by now Im sure 50 well meaning people have given Adam that advice. Plus, my CD - ROM doesnt work right now, and until I get it fixed I guess someone technologically challenged like myself ought to stick to a pencil and paper. |

The best solution is to have a Hard disk which has minimum 2 Operating Systems in different partions ... Place a second Hard disk just for Your data ... If this is too expensive ( although You can buy 40 GigaBytes Hard disks for US $ 70.00 ) You need to have a CD-ROM writer enbling You to make updates ... A good CD-writer should cost also around US $ 70.00 ...
A cheaper solution is to use Floppy disks for making a copy - backup of Your most wanted items ... |
