I am trying to source some photos of Deke Slayton in his office when chief of the Astronaut Office. Ideally photos of him surrounded by desktop models, pictures, etc. many thanks.

I cannot say for certain that the policy dates as far back as Slayton, but a recent inquiry with public affairs returned a statement from the Astronaut Office that no photos or videos (for public distribution) are allowed inside the Astronaut Office (or the office of the Chief Astronaut) as a long-standing rule.

I was seeking something that dated to John Young's time as chief (and afterwards).

Not Deke's office but a couple of screen shots (poor quality) of Jim Lovell's secretary and office taken from some film clips from the National Archive - 255.NR.70-892 Reel No. 10.

All times are CT (US)
