I'm sure it was possible but was the Apollo service module engine (SPS) ever fired in tandem with any of the quad thrusters?

That was done in many cases actually, but only to settle the propellants for the SPS before a SPS burn. So if the SPS propellant tanks were not 100% full anymore you would fire the RCS for a few seconds shortly before the SPS burn.

But I don't think the RCS was ever fired for the full duration of a SPS burn to shorten the burn duration or so. Wouldn't make much difference because the SPS had a much higher thrust and would so only waste RCS propellant.
