Are there any photos of non-Mercury 7 astronauts inside a Mercury capsule/suit?

I believe that no exist.

Mercury suits were tailored for the astronauts, so, unless that a day Pete Conrad for joke have worn a old spacesuit of Gus Grissom (and someone have take a photo), you not can find a picture of a non group 1 astronaut in Mercury suit.

I don't think any non-Mercury astronauts would have a reason to enter a Mercury capsule. NASA's second group of astronauts was announced in September 1962. At that time, there were only two more Mercury missions left, and with crews in training for those, the "New Nine" would have been focused on the upcoming Gemini Program.

Maybe not an operational reason, but if you're a new astronaut at a time when only Mercury has flown in space, wouldn't you at least be curious to see what it's like to sit inside one of the capsules?

I'm not saying they would necessarily had the chance, but I could easily see why one or more of the "New Nine" might have desired the experience.

An old film of Tom Stafford or Jim Lovell trying to get into a full-sized Mercury capsule mockup would have really been something to see.

I would have been, that's for sure! In my last post I was thinking along the lines of what the new astronauts would have been working on i.e. the development of Gemini. But had they had the chance, I'm sure they would have wanted to experience the Mercury capsule.

Misplaced the original to this (which is why it's a bit pixelly), but how about John Young standing next to a Mercury capsule?

Young had the task of test spacesuits. May have tried a Mercury spacesuit in 63-64?
