In reading the description of the Gemini 8 mission events, I had several questions:
Several NASA officials raced to the old Mercury Control Center at the Cape on hearing of Gemini 8's emergency return, after turning around their aircraft which was en route to Washington.
With primary control of flights shifting to the new Houston MOCR after Gemini 3, how long did the old MCC remain in operation as a 'standby' or active facility receiving mission event audio/video?
With expansion of the Mercury Control Center for Gemini, there was a Gemini simulator located in one of the rooms. What became of this simulator after the program's end?
Regarding the tracking ships used during Gemini, like the Rose Knot Victor and Coastal Sentry Quebec; were the Capcoms among the 'Range Rats' shifted from land to 'sea duty' according to assignment, or were they kept in the same positions throughout the program?

You are correct that when the MCC was expanded, a Gemini simulator was installed. As for the disposition of the simulator, I don't know where it ended up.
