I apologize before hand for bringing up the camera issue again, but did Armstrong's camera have a "stick handle" underneath the camera like those seen on the other missions. I'm asking because I'm building a replica one, and want to keep it somewhat historically correct. There are no real pictures of his front side on the moon. Even Alan Bean's painting "Straightening our Stripes" has his arm in the way so you can't tell if it has a handle underneath the camera. Any detailed pictures of the camera would still be appreciated. By the way, I soon will be presenting a replica Apollo helmet that I have been building. It will cost under $500 and will look absolutely fabulous on your replica space suit. If you have seen those that come with the space suit you can purchase at Collectspace/Skyscopes and others, the package is decent with the exception of the helmet. I heard that the company manufacturing the suit will be coming out with a realistic Apollo 11/12 helmet at about $2500. My helmet will not have a gold visor, but will appear to have one in the retracted position. What a great item to get signed by a moonwalker.

The answer is 'yes' :-)

You can see the handle in still images taken from the tv camera images when Neil and Buzz are at the base of the ladder reading the plaque. Neil has the camera strapped on his chest and the handle is clearly seen .

I've got this image if you would like see it ?
