Everyone knows the first words that Neil Armstrong said as he stepped on to the lunar surface, many know Buzz Aldrin's first words, some know Pete Conrad's, but after that it is difficult to find out exactly what were the first words spoken be each astronaut as they stepped on to the moon.

Can anyone help me with the others?

I distilled this list once upon a time...

Armstrong - "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

Aldrin - "Looks like the secondary strut had a little thermal effects on
it right here, Neil." (His "Magnificent desolation." quote was said
while he stood on the pad of the lander.)

Conrad - "Whoopie! Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but
that's a long one for me."

Bean - "Okay. My, that Sun is bright."

Shepard - "Okay, you're right. Al is on the surface. And it's been a
long way, but we're here."

Mitchell - "That last one is a long one."

Scott - "Okay, Houston. As I stand out here in the wonders of the
unknown at Hadley, I sort of realize there's a fundamental truth to our
nature. Man must explore."

Irwin - "Boy, that front pad is really loose, isn't it?"

Young - "There you are: Mysterious and Unknown Descartes. Highland
plains. Apollo 16 is gonna change your image. I'm sure glad they got ol'
Brer Rabbit, here, back in the briar patch where he belongs."

Duke - "Fantastic! Oh, that first foot on the lunar surface is super,
Tony!"

Cernan - "Jack, I'm out here. Oh, my golly! Unbelievable! Unbelievable;
but is it bright in the Sun."

Schmitt: "Why don't you come over here and let me deploy your antenna?"

I wonder if anyone ever asked Dr. Schmitt to use that as an inscription.

i collect index cards especially with quotes! So far, I've got cards with quotes and signatures by Bean, Mitchell, Shepard, Duke, and Aldrin. Most have inscribed their first words on the moon (which is what I requested to begin with). It's difficult and costly to attempt to obtain anything more than just a signature. Sometimes, you'll be asked to pay outrageous sums like $15 to $25 per word. dennis
