SpaceCraft cover #8 in Charles Vukotich's catalogue is stated to have just 30 printed, with a value of $110. Is that still the case or have more since been discovered?

I'm asking this because there are at least four currently for sale on the Internet, three by one dealer (priced at a quarter of catalogue value) and a fourth on eBay (134969966363) which has two bids on at $4.45 with six days to go.

That seems to me to be a very large proportion of 30 covers, all at ridiculously low prices for such a gem!

In my collection is one of them signed by Gus Grissom.

A similar cover is in the collection of late Ado Maier.

The quantity listed in Chuck's catalog is incorrect - likely a typo - there are certainly more than 30 and likely 300 (the quantities listed for other Grissom covers, and the number of covers for Shepard covers).

Thanks Tom. It would appear there are more than 30, although the mistake seems to be more than just a typo. The catalogue has #8 as quantity 30. But also on page 9 of the monograph it states:
...printed in green ... used for the Grissom flight. According to Carl Swanson*, only 30 of these were made. Indeed, the cover was not commonly known until the late 1970's.

* source: Private correspondence, Carl Swanson.

I used to sell this cover for $30 all day long back in the 90's. It is the least desirable of the Grissom SCC's. The most desirable is the Airmail cover which is quite scarce. The last one of those I had I sold for $350 around 2000. Its really only worth that much to a Space Craft Cover collector.

The typo was not from Chuck but by Carl. Carl was the artist and Joe was the "business" partner of SCC, so I am guessing Joe told Carl a quantity of 300 — as that seems to be the normal quantity of the time — and Carl in a note to Chuck wrote 30.
