I served on East Hartford's (Connecticut) Bicentennial Committee from early 1982 to the end of 1983. We had planned to invite Jack Swigert "home" to East Hartford, where he flew as a test pilot for Pratt & Whitney, but he died in December 1982.Instead, on the 13th anniversary of Apollo 13 in 1983, we held a tribute to Swigert in East Hartford. Among the guests were his friends from both the Connecticut Air National Guard and Pratt & Whitney. Jim Lovell sent a letter of praise. A painting I made of Swigert was unveiled that evening and after being on museum display in East Hartford, it was donated to the 103rd Squadron Headquarters in East Granby, Connecticut about 15 years ago. It appears now the painting has gone missing. Attempts to confirm the whereabouts of the painting with the Connecticut Air National Guard have gone unanswered. I am asking for help to locate the painting. If anyone has contacts with the Air National Guard, or any museum in New England please contact them. |

Try the New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, right at the end of Bradley International Airport. 860-623-3305. Hope this helps... |

I agree with Bob (ejectr). Contact the NEAM as they may have the painting. Bryan McKay may have a contact for you at the museum.
