I need some help about my Apollo 15 Insurance cover.Recently, I've purchased a framed cover. When I received the frame at home, I took it apart to scan and see the details of the envelope. I found that the inscribed insurance cover number is 32, but the COA shows 23. To me, this is clearly a mistake in writing the numbers. I don't plan to sell it, but in my opinion I think that if I ever decide to sell it, this error may detract from its value. Does anyone know if I can contact James B. Irwin II to tell him about this error? He is the one who signs the COA. Thanks for your answers. |

Unfortunately, this is not possible since Apollo 15 astronaut Jim Irwin passed away on August 8, 1991. |

Can you show an image scan of the actual cover itself? Before Col. Irwin's death, none of his insurance covers were numbered, but the flown Apollo 15 lunar surface covers were government recorded and numbered. Seeing the COA in reference to would help as well, however, if the insurance cover came from a family member, some of those might be numbered. | |
