I am not good at recognizing real/fake signatures even if I am trying hard to improve.Found this one from Neil Armstrong that was done on a magazine page. The owner just told me he bought it to a friend who bought it from a collector... so not really precise informations. I compared it to many signature I found online and I don't see a problem, but I am sure you will find if there is any. The only thing that surprise me is to find a signature on a magazine page. Thanks for your opinion. |

Seems 'off.' But your best bet is Steve Zarelli, a US-based astronaut signature authenticator. He's an expert on Armstrongs. |

I like it. But I'm often wrong. |

Looks like the Apollo 8 "Earthrise" photo, possibly from something like 'LIFE'? I hope it's a good signature because anything that connects the two missions scores high in my own book. The signature certainly has a good flow to it, but you really need an expert eye on it. As mentioned, Zarellification is the way to go. Good luck. |

It looks too fresh to me, Armstrong rarely signed in silver pen/sharpie, and I wouldn’t say it’s a typical signature. I’d say no but Steve Z is the man to talk to! |

As several members in a Facebook group told you last week, it does not look good for several reasons. Didn't Steve Zarelli tell you his opinion last week? |

That's interesting! I am not on Facebook groups, so if it is the same image, it was not me who asked but rather the owner who wants to sell it. Especially if S. Zarelli gave its opinion and it's negative and the seller still tries to sell it for authentic (as he didn't mention any Zarelli certification, that he would have for sure if it was real). If you can indicate me the link or the post on this Facebook group I would appreciate a lot! quote: Originally posted by NicDavies: Looks like the Apollo 8 "Earthrise" photo...
For me it was more a "problem" to have a signature of Apollo 11 astronaut on a Apollo 8 picture. I prefer the signature to match the mission. Thank you all very much for your answers and comments. I am surprised it doesn't seems good. I really cannot tell it is not a real signature. |

Someone in Switzerland with the first name Gregoire posted it in the Facebook group "Space autographs from the race to the moon." After a dozen people said it was bad, Gregoire posted "Thanks for all the swift feedbacks! Steeve Zarelli just confirmed our bad impressions."So if he is now trying to sell it to you... that's not good. |

I joined the Facebook group mentioned and actually it was somebody else who was interested to buy it and had the same questioning about the authenticity of the signature (sorry, I didn't want to mislead anybody).Thank you again, I will not spend my money on this one, but I have learned things and discover an interesting new group! |
