I bid for these advertised as autopens, now I have them I'm not so sure. They don't match well to the known patterns. I doubt they are real autographs, either. Have I bought fake fakes (the ultimate looser)? Thoughts please? |

That's weird! I would say forged signatures and certainly not autopen patterns. It looks like someone tried to replicate AP-autographs. Very strange and a first that I have seen in more than half-a-century collecting and working with astronaut signatures. |

Very sad world indeed if it turns out some unscrupulous seller were trying to fraudulently pass original crew autographs as authentic auto-pens. |

Wouldn't their auto-pen signature templates have been destroyed after the terrible events of Apollo 1?I am not an expert but assuming that the templates were destroyed, the signatures would have to be over 55 years old if authentic and so the blue ink would have faded significantly — so these signatures being discussed look way too fresh. |

Yes, the templates would have no longer existed and the signatures are definitely not crew hand-signed nor authentic in the first place, is my take on it. |

In my defense, the photo on eBay was a little dark with all three cards on the same immage. At a glance they looked like autopen patterns, clearly I should have looked closer. The seller has been on eBay for years selling space related covers signed and unsigned, authentic and autopen. Also photos, cards, stamps. This seller sells hundreds of items a month. I have requested a refund. |

Very good to know this seems to be a honest and respectful seller. |
