Over ten years ago I used Google's Picassa photo editing website to make some collages for astronaut signings. Picassa was very easy to use, automatically arranging even photos of different sizes, then letting me rearrange photos (to put them in a more chronological order), then finally download a hugely high resolution copy for printing.Picassa was shut down years ago, and now it seems there is nothing comparable. Every collage maker I've used today either doesn't let me rearrange the photos, or charges way too much money to merely download a single collage - $34.95 in one case. Does anyone know of one that I missed, that will let me do what Picassa let me do over ten years ago? At this point I won't even try for photos of different sizes. I have one set of 12 and one set of nine square pictures I'd just like to put in rows of three or four. |

Perhaps try Walgreens Photo. You can upload the photos, create a collage poster and get it printed. |

Adobe has a system that might work for you.For basic photo editing, I use a free program called Photoscape. The "Combine" tab will allow you to make collages. I recommend getting basic Photoscape, not "Photoscape X", which is much harder to navigate. For printing, I always use Nation's Photo Lab. They have the best prices, extremely high-quality prints, fast & careful shipping, and an easy website. They also allow you to create collages, although you may be stuck using a template you don't like. So I'd try to make it in Photoscape, then upload it to their site for printing. |

Or you could carry on using Picasa. |

Whoa, that is a downloadable version of Google's old Picasa? Have you used it? quote: Originally posted by hbw60: For basic photo editing, I use a free program called Photoscape.
Thank you! Photoscape was good only for PCs (I have a Chromebook), and the Chromebook version had some problems. But the Adobe site seems to work quite well. |

I still have Picasa installed (and in use) from when it was first issued, so I hadn't specifically used that site. But as I suggested it, I felt the decent thing to do was to test it. I downloaded v3.9 and installed it on a virtualbox, and ran Norton against it to check for any nasties. It all looks good.I would still suggest running your favoured AV software against anything downloaded from an unknown source. |

Thanks very much for that "due diligence" work on the recommendation! I will try to download it - hopefully it works with a Chromebook. |
