A friend wants me to sell a Gemini II poster for him. His wife's grandfather worked on the Gemini Project and had everyone sign it. Does anyone know the best place to sell it (beside eBay)? Here is a list of people who signed. - Neil A. Armstrong
- John H. Glenn* (wasn't in Gemini Project)
- Virgil l. Grissom a.k.a. Gus Grissom
- John W. Young
- Thomas P. Stafford
- Walter M. Schirra
- James A. McDivitt
- Charles Conrad, Jr.
- Frank Borman
- James A. Lovell, Jr.
- Edward H. White II

This is a Gemini poster that was given to NASA employees and contractors that appears to be signed but is in fact pre-printed with the signatures. The most prominent tell-tale sign is the inscription by Elliot See, "Thanks for your help", which matches other examples of the same poster. |

Hate to be a bubble-buster, but yes indeed, this is one of the known prints that I have have seen (and owned) from time to time. |

I, Buck T. Roberts, have the original signed Gemini II poster. I was in my mid-twenties working at Martin Marietta. While working on the Gemini Project the astronauts would frequently visit. One day, 11 of them where there at the same time. I went around and had each one sign the Gemini II Poster. I posted it in the engineering department until the day I left Martin at which time I took it with me. I still have it in my position to this day. |

Would love to see a picture of the original one Buck, have the signatures and pictures of the astronauts faded? |

The signatures are not that faded and there are no pictures at the bottom. |

Buck, what an awesome memento. Thanks for sharing the photo.I am not a signature expert but it interesting to note how Jim Lovell's signature evolved a bit from when he signed your poster — there are perhaps other signatures there too where you can note similar evolution as they got older. Super cool! |

If Buck's poster is the original, then it needs to be documented by someone like Steve Zarelli or other writing specialist, which is going to require an in-person viewing of the autographs to be able to inspect the ink. A photo or scan will not suffice. Buck, it would also be a good idea to have your recollections of the poster being signed transcribed in a formal letter, with as much detail as possible. The lack of astronaut photos at the bottom of Buck's poster is not enough to establish originality because there was apparently another (first?) version of the poster without photos, as seen here from an old eBay listing: |
