The Soviet-era space program is one of my areas of interest, but I honestly don't know enough to form any opinions on the provenance or authenticity of this fragment from the Luna-24 lander. Thoughts?
The larger piece from which this piece of Luna 24 was taken was originally sold in a Superior Auction Gallery auction in the 1990's. Included with the certificate and fragment is a copy of the original documentation from Superior Galleries.
Also included are copies of the original documentation from Cosmonaut Valery Rozhdestvensky in Russian as well as a translation into English.

Multiple layers of provenance obfuscation - Superior (and whether you have confidence in auction house lot description/authentication methodology), further dissection/disaffiliation from the source artifact by this eBay seller. Dicey and left holding the bag convincing others the item is authentic if you intend to ultimately resell.
