Has anyone seen a 3.5x3.5 version of "Earth Rise"? Not only is it smaller but also flipped. As to the Apollo 8 Christmas napkin, only reference I found was at University of Houston.

I've seen these napkins before, here is another image, unsure of their origins. There was also a Manned Flight Awareness "Seasons Greetings" poster put out around the same time celebrating the manned flights up through Apollo 8. |

Looks like a regular print from that time period, it’s size and that it’s on Kodak paper. Might have been printed from one of the many positive slides of the day, which might explain the rounded corners, the positive wasn’t taken out of its mount and with the emulsion side up instead of down, which would cause image to be printed backwards. That’s my take for what it’s worth. |

Would this have been printed from the original negative? Owner was Bill Platt and heavily involved in NASA, so it is possible that it was done for him. His wife doesn't recall where it came from. |

My understanding is that the flown film was only used to make a duplicate set of negatives; no prints were made. The duplicates were then used to produce another set of negatives, from which prints and other products were produced. From what I have seen, this smaller format was more common with prints made from slides or transparencies. |

Thank you Robert. Anyone else have a small format copy they would like to share? |
