To consolidate the number of posts that I'm putting up, I thought it might be a good idea to house my questions about Apollo Food System team lead Rita Rapp's collection on one thread.I came across the below items. I'm guessing they are not significant but I thought I would ask. Thank you for being patient with me. |

It is a German book by the renowned scientific/schoolbook publisher Westermann. It is on the German D-1 Spacelab mission that flew under the designation of STS-61A. It is signed by the European crew members Furrer (deceased), Messerschmid and Ockels (deceased). The first German on a shuttle flight (STS-9), Ulf Merbold, also signed the book. In the incription (probably by Messerschmid) Furrer) the crew thanks Ms Rita Rapp for taking care of the physical well-being of the crew (probably providing food). — Jürgen |

Jürgen, thank you very much for the information/translation. Much appreciated.Below is pictured a collection of first day covers that I wanted to get your thoughts on for approximate value. If you could weigh in, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if there are any that I should pull out to sell one-off, please let me know that as well. Thank you for your help.

The Medallic Arts medallion of the Mercury astronauts is certainly desirable... have been looking for one for awhile! |
