Just wondering what this coin could be classified as? I get the "flown" items, the Launch Services Program coins (really like some of those), but seeing and liking some of these coins that seem to be from the subcontractors for NASA. More than monetary value, would love to learn some of the history of this coin. Thanks in advance for any input. |

Galaxy Medals produced bronze coins for each space shuttle missions that were sold as souvenirs at NASA visitor center gift shops. This is the STS-73 example. They were sold individually and as part of mission (and I believe, orbiter-specific) sets. |

Thank you! I'll have to keep an eye on their store online for new items. Much appreciated. |

Welcome to the forum denali414! You'll find a copious amount of space artifact expertise from a variety of experts. I too am an avid coin/medallion collector and really like the contracting/contractor medallions especially from the Shuttle program. |

I too hope one day very soon to start posting my medallions and share a brief history of the coin/medallion and contractor or system that it relates to! |
