This Apollo 16 crew signed cover is listed on eBay and I wanted an opinion on the John Young signature as it does not look even close to me.

Young isn't the only fake on that cover.

Thank you guys. In my opinion the Charlie Duke looks okay and I had no clue on Mattingly. Is the Duke signature authentic (still learning)?

There's two on there from my inexperienced eye and Young is certainly one of them... but I'm taken aback by the asking price. Even if they were all the real deal, that's a fair amount of money they're seeking.

Sometimes people do the right thing. I sent the seller a copy of this post and he immediately ended the auction and thanked cS for bringing it to his attention.

I didn't spend much time on Duke given the Young and Mattingly are obvious problems, but it appears likely okay.

Whilst on Apollo 16 autographs, what about this cover, also on eBay?

All would appear to be autopen signatures but at least he does not claim them to be hand signed.

All times are CT (US)
