I've been dealing with RR for just under 6 years now, and have always found them to be very helpful. I've always found their customer service to be outstanding. In the most recent auction I won an item. In the description of the item, the writer did not mention some damage (which was visible in the image provided if one knew what to look for). I still liked the item and planned on keeping it, I was just a little upset about the damage. I called up RR about the issue, and mentioned that I was still keeping the item. RR kindly credited me a chunk of change to make things right. Like I said, I've found RR to be an outstanding company with regards to customer service/satisfaction. |

I am of the same opinion about RR. Absolutely the best when it comes to promptness of responses and addressing of issues. I have had indifferent experiences with most of the other players out there. I just discovered that two signed covers I purchased in January from a different auction house have some serious authentication issues. Caveat emptor, but still, I took it as an article of faith that if the covers passed the muster of the in-house expert there shouldn't have been a problem. |

I have had great experiences with RR over the last few years. The best in the business in my opinion. |

Ditto on them being the best. Their ''after care'' is second to none. |

RR Auction is great. Nothing but positive experience as both a buyer and a seller. Elizebeth Otto, Tricia Eaton, and Jon Siefken will really work with you."Working with" means: 1. Allowing me to to review consigned item descriptions and recommend adjusting accordingly. 2. Paying an advance for good quality items. 3. Prompt & well packaged return of unsold items that did not meet reserve. Great service gets repeat clients.

Agree with all said here. The folks at RR is where I send people who are looking to sell an item. |

These responses are interesting. I've never - not once - had the experience of someone "working with" me on anything. Remember that items selling for under $1,000, they keep almost half (20% + 22.5% + $15). I've seen the agreed-upon commission rate change between the time of consignment and the time they email the contract.Additionally, for the space autographs that I follow (Apollo stuff, mainly), prices have been down. Look at Apollo 11 crew items, for example. |

A few thoughts...Nothing but great things to say about RR from many years of experience buying and selling with them. They put together wonderful space auctions, ship with top quality materials, and create beautiful printed catalogues. All in all a great service and reference for collectors. One thing I have always wondered about is why auction houses (RR is a good example of this) take several months to pay off the consignors? It would seem from the outside that this could be expedited quite a bit. The scenario comes to mind where the buyer of your lot(s) has paid electronically or via check: would it not be reasonable for the consignor payout to be 3-5 business days after the payment has cleared? The technology certainly exists, so I imagine that it is a strict decision to conduct business this way. Is this an opportunity to attract even more business by offering the best payout schedules as a differentiator? Would be interesting to know if the market doesn't demand or isn't driven like this... |

I may be mistaken here but I believe that the time taken to pay consignors is, at least partially, related to consumer law.Retailers must allow buyers a period of time in which to return something due to damage, not as described, etc. so it makes sense to me that an auction house would wait until said time has gone by before paying the consignor. In my experience it has taken around 45 days for a cheque to reach me after an auction has taken place. 30 I can account for a return policy under consumer law, but 15 is excessive in respect to a cheque. I can make payments instantly using BACs or 1-3 days for international payments. Cheques I can write out and ship in 5 minutes. It makes sense to me that all cheques could be written, sealed and ready for shipment within the days following the auction, and as soon as the 30 day mark is up, then they could be shipped out. This is just an assumption of course and may not be correct. |

My experience with RR Auction as a seller was "second to none". A few CS members may recognize my name from my cS posts. As many of you know, my Apollo dream "job" (I still feel guilty getting paid for being in a "constant state of euphoria ") was relatively short lived, i.e. 1968 - 1973.After my exit from the world of space exploration, I entered the world of inventors. My inventions led to starting several businesses to bring my inventions to the market place. Quite frankly, entering and becoming integrated into the business world was like working on "another planet" where the "rules of personal engagement" were diametrically opposed to my Personal Apollo Experience. I had to adjust to a world of cut throat, deceitful, no integrity businesses and the individuals in those businesses. It was not easy and as I constantly reflected back to my Apollo days I realized and appreciated the personal relationships accentuated with sincerity, honesty and passion. Based on my forty plus years conducting my own businesses in the aforementioned negative business environment I was very skeptical about utilizing a "business", specifically an auction house to consign and sell my Apollo Memorabilia. However, after doing my due diligence looking for a reputable Auction House, I selected RR Auctions. I would probably have to write a book to describe the incredibly positive experience I had with RR Auction and the sincere, honest and passionate individuals that are fortunate enough to work at RR. I am not going to "write the book" but based on my experiences in the cut throat, deceitful, no integrity world of business, my decision to work with RR Auction WAS ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS, IF NOT THE BEST DECISION, I'VE EVER MADE. If any cS members considering selling their memorabilia have any questions about dealing with RR auction, I CAN ENSURE THAT YOU WILL BE DEALING WITH INTEGRITY, SINCERITY AND PASSION. |
