I need a bit of help putting a value on this cover. I'm going to Spacefest in June and unfortunately I have to part with a few bits in order to acquire a few new ones!

This cover is signed by the first six female American astronauts, Rhea Seddon, Judy Resnik, Sally Ride, Shannon Lucid, Anna fisher and Kathy Sullivan. What do you think a fair market value is for this piece? I'd really appreciate your input.

The Rhea Seddon signature is an autopen that greatly reduces the value and desirability of the signed cover. The other five autographs look good, but with a poorly placed Ride signature.

But it would be possible to have Seddon to actually sign the cover and then it would have increased value. Sorry about the bad news.

Thanks Bob! That is a bit disappointing alright! I'm by no means an expert in the area of authentication, especially when it comes to the shuttle astronauts.

Do you have any idea as to its value? I'd like to pass it on, it's not really the area that I collect, I happened upon it (by happy accident) in a big lot of mostly unsigned covers that I bought a few years ago.

It has a receipt from an auction house from 1993 for $275, I kind of assumed that price was wishful thinking!

Would have to say that at this time the Resnik autograph is by far the most valuable component of that piece. Adding a real Seddon would increase the value somewhat but as noted the Sally Ride signature is indeed poorly placed.

Still that is a beautiful cover; and as an admitted Judy Resnik fan (she should have been first to fly) would put the value up around $1,000 USD.

Whoa! I never would have thought that! I'll be at Spacefest and could easily add Rhea Seddon, I met her a few years ago at Autographica in London, she's a very charming woman, and her and Hoot's lecture was great.

Would anyone have any interest? I'd happily let it go for less!
