Back when I was in high school, I wrote to a bunch of astronauts at JSC and received quite a few autographed NASA litho photos. The typical white border waxy paper litho that they sent out... but one that I received was odd.

It was actually Willie McCool and he kindly inscribed it and autographed it for me, but it is not the standard 8x10. It's closer to 8.5x11, almost as if the border hadn't been cut down. The color photo is the normal size but it has a very wide white boarder. I received it directly from JSC from writing to McCool. It's the same waxy paper litho like all the rest, its simply oversized due to the large border.

Has anyone seen any others like this or is mine somewhat unique?

Here is a scan of the litho, as you can see the white boarder is quite large.

My John Casper ISP litho was 8-1/2 x 11, which had the standard wording on the back, although it looked like the litho had been run off a printer.

Hart has the same Casper as I do, but I have never seen Willie's in anything other than a 8x10.

Aside from that and if I recall correctly, the 8.5x11 lithos started with the STS-124 crew.

Who knows? Might have been a print run destined for the dumpster or yet to be trimmed but nonetheless found their way to his office.

Fair to say you might have a rare one there, irrespective of the fact it's signed. Always liked this guy.

Interesting info everyone, thanks. I always thought it was a little bit of an odd piece.

Come to think of it, I have the same Casper as you guys. I received it from him within the last year.
