Here's a new one for you — I'm sending some hardcover books to be signed by astronauts, flight directors, and the like. To prevent the dust jackets from getting banged up in transit, I'm removing them first and putting them back on once I've received the book back.

What's the best way to store the jackets in the interim?

As we all know, requests can take some time to get back, so they'll likely get shuffled around and moved from desk to desk, as things get rearranged. How can I best store them to minimize inadvertent bending, tearing, folding, etc.? Thanks!

Take the dust jacket off another book about the same size and put the DJ you want to preserve on that book. Then place the whole thing in a ziplock plastic bag and set it out of the way on a shelf or in a drawer until your signed book comes back. It's the best way to maintain the shape of the dust jacket.

Wow, I cannot believe that I did not think of that.

Thanks!
