I would be most grateful for help in this matter. What is the market value of Alan Bean "Houston, We Have a Problem" print?

One was traded on cS last May for $600. Another sold on Heritage Auctions for approximately $950, again last May. I have also seen them listed for around $1900 on eBay but I do not believe they are selling at that price.

I would like to buy one but the variation in prices are very large and confusing. Thanks.

Perhaps the high-end priced one you saw is the limited edition print signed by Lovell, Haise and the actors who played them plus those who played Swigert, Mattingly and the director, Ron Howard, from the movie Apollo 13? I can't see a regular print or artist's proof going for that much in the secondary market.

Of course, with the original print priced at $500, and it being sold out, I can imagine prices being inflated. I guess it's a case of supply and demand.

Are there different issues out there? Are not all of them signed by Lovell, Haise, Hanks, Howard, Bean etc?

The $500 price cited for the original print is what the limited edition actor and astronaut signed version cost when it was first released. In other words, there was only one version, the signed print, of which 1,000 were produced.

Thank you for the input so far.

So, I come back to what would be a 'fair' price? There is a massive difference between what the ones sold last May for and what is being asked on eBay and what potential sellers are asking for now.

I remember seeing one on Astronaut Central last October for +/- $1500. I paid $1350 for mine (framed) 5 or 6 months ago.
