I came across a Fisher space pen with Charles Conrad engraved on it. It is new in the box but looks to be from the 60s or 70s.I have never seen any of these before. Does anyone have an information on these? It would be most appreciated. |

Probably issued as a special or gift by The Conrad Foundation a few years ago? |

The Conrad-pen referred to came to my attention during the ASF's Autograph & Memorabilia Show two weeks ago at Kennedy Space Center. It was an original Fisher space pen from 1969, box presentation holder included, that had Conrad's name engraved on the side of the pen. There is nothing from Fisher's website about any of their older or original vintage-issued pens like this from the Apollo era. Other Apollo astronauts had their names engraved on the side of similar Fisher pens as well when astronauts first started exploring the lunar surface that same year. |

I've seen a few of these and I'd guess they were most likely promotional gifts from Fisher Co. to the astronauts.Unfortunately they weren't model AG-7 pens (of the kind used by NASA) but another model, otherwise they'd probably be a lot more desirable. |

I beg to differ with you Chris, but I'm familiar with these pens and they are AG-7. I'm looking at three of them as I type from my fathers days at NASA 60's and 70's. They are inscribed to Richard Gordon, Michael Collins and a special Apollo 17 with Gene Cernan and APOLLO 17 inscribed. The latter is slightly different than the two with just names inscribed. On edit: I should look things over more closely before responding! Chris I do believe you are correct in that the AG-7 is stamped (inscribed) on the Apollo 17, and is not on the two with Collins and Gordon. Other than that they are hard to tell apart! |

Mine does not say AG-7 although it looks like that model. It is engraved "Space Pen by Fisher USA." The insert in the box is dated Aug. 3, 1969 but also gives no model number.Anyway here is a bit of space pen info for those who care (still does not address my pen). Does anyone have a flown Apollo 7 through Apollo 11 Fisher pen? Does it have an AG-7 inscription? From internet pictures, it appears it does not. |

I was talking about the examples I've seen to-date with the astronauts' names engraved on them which were not AG-7 models but of course engraved AG-7s may also exist. If you can post pictures of the pens you have that would help. Or mail me images if you can't post them. |
