I ordered a copy of "Lost Moon" and found this on the title page:

My first thought was that it was a gift inscription, but, while I'm still leaning that way, a few qualities (the placement, use of the word "for," and the use of the full written date instead of just the year) made me think it might be worth looking into.

I know it's not Jim Lovell, Jeffrey Kluger, Gene Kranz, etc., but is it... anybody? Thanks!

Sorry for the lack of clarity on the image. When looking at the actual book, it looks to say "Jason".

I'm pretty sure it's a gift inscription, but I wanted to check before I got rid of it.

Looks like:

"...Happy Birthday
Love from Mom..."

That's what I was thinking too... from the picture.

I swear that looking at it in person, it looks like "Love Jason". Maybe Jason's mom has a thing for Peter.

Honestly, either way, I'm just trying to avoid being one of those people who's on the news because they donated a 5.4 million dollar book to Goodwill.

Haha!!! Funny you mention that because I actually scored a signed and inscribed version (To Brad) of Lost Moon by Jim Lovell at a Goodwill store!!

Last year, I also found a first edition "First On The Moon", and held my breath as I opened it...but alas, no signatures. Still a great find, though!

I do have to say that I have found several signed books at Goodwill and Savers stores. Just a few — Lawrence Welk, Suzanne Somers, Greg Louganis, Newt Gingrich, Jim and Tammy Fae Baker, Terry Brooks and a Reggie White. I swear that almost every time I go to one I find at least one signed. Just depends who it is whether I buy it or not. LOL
