I believe I have the elementary school folder of Sally Ride. What makes it so interesting is that it is three pages, one her request to be an astronaut, two her acceptance speech into NASA, and three a diary entrance where she is describing her first space adventure. All three are her childhood dreams written out as a school project. This is part of an estate and I would like to have her signature verified (although she was a child) and wonder if it has any value. Thank you. |

What a great find! I'm totally jealous. I'm probably the last person who should comment on this, since I'd give anything to have it. But realistically, I would be comfortable paying something in the $600-$700 range. Having said that, I think it's more likely that its worth twice that much simply due to the WOW! factor. |

I've got to say, this sounds exactly like a biography project an elementary school student would have done about Sally Ride. |

I agree with Steve (stsmithva). As Lynn Sherr documents in her recent biography, Sally didn't give any thought to being an astronaut until she was in college and saw that NASA was recruiting. There's a chance though that the signature may be authentic, as I imagine Sally signed quite a number of children's reports about her. As suggested above, sharing a scan or photos of the folder's contents and signature would help. (Instructions to do so can be found here.) |

I have to agree with Steve and Robert. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. |
