I have recently taken in a rare item on trade and I am curious about it's worth. It is a model made by LTV when they were designing the Gemini Astronaut Maneuvering Unit (AMU). It is around 12 inches tall or so and very detailed.

I can't give you a dollar value but model collectors here (who might well be interested in buying if a sale is the objective) or one of the many auction houses specializing in space material would likely give you an estimate.

The owner of the AMU featured in this thread, and on American Restoration, might be intrigued as well.

Great-looking model in any case, and nice photography. Certainly helpful to let others give a more informed opinion on value and rarity.

How much is a contractor's model value? That is a very subjective question. How much has one sold for in the past is a good indicator however in the absence of any data it is dependent on how much those with the funds are willing to pay.

For example the last Lunar Legacies auction had three very interesting models, none sold. The opening prices for those auctions were too high. That is not to say that in a different environment and a different auction house they may have still sold. Typically those "over sell" the item.

In my opinion I would not pay any more than $1,500 for this model, but that is me.

All times are CT (US)
