I recently acquired a gold border Apollo 14 Crew Patch. I got it from a friend of Alan Bean, who also gave me a poster print of one of his paintings. It has a personal autograph at the bottom of the print. This is why I believe that the patch may be official. How do I find out about it's authenticity? I am currently getting the print appraised. It is Alan Bean's "Locking Up The Rocks" print from his "For All Mankind" series. Embossed below the print in white space are the words: ASSOCIATED AVIATION UNDERWRITERS The personal autograph message says Elvin and Dot, "Man walking on the moon was an impossible dream that All Americans made come true. We can be proud!" and then his signature. |
