I have a paperback book of The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe signed by Chuck Yeager. Anybody know what the value of this book might be? |

It depends on if it is inscribed to someone or whether it has a generic "Good Luck, Chuck Yeager" or is simply signed "Chuck Yeager". If its inscribed to someone I guess around $20 or so but if uninscribed (and in great condition) about $40-$50 maximum. |

Thank you very much. It is not signed to anyone just his signature. I was at an airshow where he just signed it for me. What a great human being, and what a Brave Man for all he did for aviation. |

I've seen some signed photos selling for quite a bit more. Are books not as desirable? |

Signed books are generally less expensive than a signed photo. You can buy books signed by Yeager (hardback) starting around $25. The best example is Buzz Aldrin. You can pick up some of his books for $10-25. When someone on this forum asked the value of a book signed by him, a member quipped that the book was probably worth more without the signature.I don't know why this is so. I would just as soon have a book that I can read and enjoy than look at a photograph. A photo is a photo, but every time you read a book, you get a little more out of it. |

I agree Fred. I'll take a book over a photo anyday, but they take up a lot of room after a while don't they? |

I don't really mind either. Although a book is more practical I suppose and easier to store than framing photos everywhere if you want to display them. |
