A Gemini 9 souvenir patch for $473!? Ebay item 220358579103. What up with this?

There are probably a couple of reasons. - it's a vintage patch and the person really wanted it.
- although this is a souvenir patch, there is a connection with the astronauts, especially Gene Cernan. See NASA photo H-1503.

If the above patch sold for $473 then what's this vintage patch on eBay going to sell for? I know which one I would prefer. I now feel sorry for the guy who paid $473. |

If you look at Chris' website, 2 trimmed Gemini IX patches went for $1,252 and more recently $899. So expect this patch, if it is the real thing, will go higher because it has the name tab attached to it.To pay $470 for the souvenir patch may be worth it for some who cannot spend that much for the "crew patch." It is indeed a very nice patch and has some connection to Gene Cernan. |
