Well, we've seen this one before ebay 200231043285. However, what do you think of this guy's story regarding provenance linked to Dr. Chuck (Charles) Berry, and supposed NASA statement that autopens were not used on mats? Still look like autopens to me. |

Definitely Autopens. The Chuck Berry story has no influence on whether the signatures are authentic. Plenty of NASA staff received Autopenned items without ever realizing it.As for the NASA employee saying that Autopens were never used on mats - it's quite possible that someone there thinks that's the case but in reality I've seen plenty of mats signed with Autopens. There was nothing to stop the machine working on a mat. |

I wrote the seller last night, who responded to and posted the e-mail to his auction today. (Apologies for the somewhat boisterous tone of the message, but I wanted to catch his attention.) |

I think it was a very good note, and also admirable that they posted it. I think they did the same thing last time with some (not all) of the messages. I had sent them detailed specifics of which autopens they matched up to, but those were not posted. Seems like the seller may be legit, but just can't bring themself to accept the fact that their ex-neightbor gave them autopens. |
