Another for the hall of shame...I love how this seller says it comes with a COA. In the listing he says it is "for a hand signed color 8x10 photo from Apollo 11 NASA" I don't know why eBay allows this sort of garbage to be listed... |

Maybe just the "hand-signed" part isn't true... maybe he signed with his foot instead. ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Here's the brilliant response from this seller. I guess Pro Celebrity Sports has replaced Scott, Ken, Bob, Robert and Tahir as the experts on NA's autograph. I'll have to start getting my COA's from Pro Celeb Sports because clearly they're "registered" experts."Before you make comments like that go to pro celecrity sports they are both registered and the registration # is 10246 and 10245 be prepared for me to complain about you! - ambersway" Ray ------------------ "There are 2 things that are infinite, the Universe and man's stupidity, but I'm not so sure about the Universe". I also contacted this seller and he ended both the Armstrong and Aldrin auctions and will seek advice/authentication elsewhere which was very positive I thought.Ray, he was very civil with me so perhaps you struck a nerve or something. Regards, Derek |

Derek,I'm sure the seller was very nice to you, after he had vented his anger towards me. All I did was to tell the seller that the Armstrong was was a poorly done forgery, then gave them the link to this thread. I may have said that my grandmother, who was blind and who's been dead for 20 years, could tell this was a forgery. They came back with what I posted and much more that wasn't posted. I responded by saying that the City Sports Company registration was either a worthless joke or an intentional scam, they apparently took offense. Oh well, I'm not the one selling obvious forgeries and I think if more collectors took a proactive stance to confront these lowlifes, you wouldn't have the prolific amount of forgeries being offered. IMHO, if every seller of bogus material was sent 10-20 emails, letting them know that their material was a forgery, they wouldn't want the grief and they'd be forging some other genre. Ray |

Ray what you say is right, but what if the seller doesn't know that it is a forgery and sells it in good faith only to have people tell the BUYER that it is no good but don't tell the SELLER. Doesn't this defeat the object. This is what happened to me with my Ed White signed (sic) photo. It was sold to me on Astro A as an original this was about 7 yrs ago. I looked at it and it looked pretty good. Now I come to clear my collection and find it is a good fake. So I eat the loss. What other options do I have. When the White is returned to me you can bet your bottom dollar it will be destroyed by me. So there's a $450 loss there. If the same people that went to the buyer had emailed me and told me that it was no good it would never have been sold and reputations wouldn't be called into question That is my point. At least be open about it. Guy |
