It looks like the dealer " Destiny" is back using the name "stunocpa" on EBAY. I wonder how long it will take till he starts working his magic. Gerry M www.astronautarchives.com |

Gerry-Is this Destiny related in any way to the old company Destiny Space that used to sell autographed items? If so, are there issues with items that may have been acquired from them in the past. One of the earliest pieces I ever got was from them - that's why I'm asking. Apologies if this may have been covered in a past threat, but I've been a member of CollectSpace for only a year or so. Thanks! Rob |

If I recall correctly, I don't think there were any issues with Destiny Space regarding authenticity of the items, if that's what you're wondering about. I think the issues had more to do with their business practices. |

Yes this is the same guy.
There have been problems with some of the quality of the photos sold over the past year ( if you were lucky enough to get them) in addition to the other problems. Gerry M Astronaut Archives |

Through the grapevine I've become aware of certain postings on this thread by Gerry M. I've registered with CollectSpace so I can set the record straight. In the past I've had dealings with Gerry. This was a number of years ago. He still owes me money. The product I sent him was licensed, authentic and beautiful. Because we had a disagreement, Gerry used forums such as this one to bad-mouth me. I never got involved with these types of venues as I felt they were self-serving. I still feel that way and this thread simply confirms that. The items being sold on ebay are authentic DestinySpace signed items. I know the fellow selling them and he bought them directly from my company a number of years ago. The quality- even though Gerry comments otherwise- is excellent. The photos are made from the negatives located at NASA archives in Houston- which I gained access to thanks to Alan Bean. So let's look at Gerry's true motives. He impugns items sold on ebay because he sells competing items on his own website (which he shamelessly promotes on each posting). Apparently, Gerry's business plan is to defame competing product so as to sell his own. I had a similar problem many years ago when I signed Dave Scott to autograph items. As soon as I began marketing them I was accused of selling forged items as "everyone knows Scott doesn't sign". Well, he did, with me, under a license. Yet the damage was done by Gerry and his kind who sit in their basements wearing only underpants fretting about their "competition". I no longer sell astronaut signed items nor even own the DestinySpace web site domain name. But with the true skunks like Gerry and others seemingly running this "hobby" I am tempted to become a major player again. And Gerry- if I find out you bad mouth me or the items we produced one more time I will seek legal remedy. I've done it before and won, and I won't hesitate to do it again. I suggest you immediately post a retraction about the quality of the items we sold. From now on you and your pals will be held accountable by me for your false and defamatory statements. |

I thought this thread was about the seller called stunocpa, but ...FWIW, I just bought a STS-4 red-numbered NASA photo signed by the crew from Gerry M. The photo was just as described, well packaged, and delivered promptly. I have had no dealings with stunocpa on e-Bay. ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Destiny Space:You've come to the wrong forum if you expect to elicit sympathy. Many members of Cs have experienced your business "practices." You've been kicked off eBay (which is hard to do) innumerable times, only to resurface under another name, and collect bad feedbacks by the dozens. You have never paid Gene Cernan a penny, nor Bruce McCandless. You were dropped by Buzz Aldrin and Dave Scott for dishonesty. Your remaining stock is getting old and yellowed now, has lousy color, and the black and white photos you sold mostly self-destructed over the years due to cheap, poor processing. You're one of the bad people in this business, which has more than its share. Astronaut autographs are, in my opinion, a gold mine. It takes a real bozo to kill this goose. Anyone can make it in this line of work by simply being honest with people I used to be your biggest customer, but you alienated me with the poor product quality and behind-my-back name calling. I understand you attended some obscure law college, probably to defend yourself against so many angry, litigious ex-customers; or maybe just to intimidate through your own lawsuit threats. Ironically, some of the most damage to the hobby has come from lawyers, like Keith Mountain, who was just as inept. Go away. Boy, this hobby is getting complicated!! Glad I am getting out. My entire collection is on Ebay under mizzouillini. I think there are some real bargins given that they are archive frames. I also have a few signed books and a non-signed techncial manual. Good luck, I hope you guys can get things squared away amongst yourselves. Jim |

Oh please stop with the legal threats. I highly doubt you want to go to Court and have YOUR history brought up - assuming you can find an attorney to take the case. Oh wait, you or your wife is one right or went to law school for a class or two or something? I'm less than impressed with that also. Since you desire to set the record straight, I'd be interested if you kept track of how many different eBay seller names you've had and why you changed them so many times? There are many MANY threads here outlining how many you've had. Also let's line up the people you've stiffed here and let them set the record straight too. So before you impugn Gerry here, take a loook at your history and make sure you honestly describe it here. Or as Kim says, go away. |

HiI just bought & paid for (via Paypal) a set of 4 Ed Mitchell signed photos for $85 including shipping. The sigs & photos look good to me. I will let you know how the deal proceeds. In the late 1990's I bought several items from Destiny and had no problems or complaints. The items are still in my collection. |

Surely this masterpiecegems just has to be Rob Levin? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&item=150023113600 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&item=150023130773 The photos are classic Destiny Space, the tempting groups of items at low starting bids, the pictures taken with the items on the floor... it's October1958 all over again! |

I'm one of the lucky ones, too. I bought a few things from him years ago and it went OK. Though I thought it odd that he wanted payment made out to "R. Levin". IMO that is usually a red flag when someone wants payment made out to an initial. Kinda like a seller using a private auction. Luckily the transaction worked out for me. I probably never would have known about all the problems with this seller if it weren't for collectSPACE. We have a great asset in this site, particularly the Opinions & Advice forum, because it helps us help each other. |

Scott,Why is it a red flag to request payment to a first initial with a last name? |

How many names can you come up with when you just have an initial. It is an easy way to say it was not me I am Randy, Robert or Rob. In a round about way a fake id. |
