The title of this auction lists it as being from Apollo 7. It says it is a piece of flown parachute material. The description says it is from Apollo 11. The photo shows the Apollo 15 sailing under 2 good parachutes.

Kind of a strange listing? Anyone beleive it?

Hmmm, I wonder if the chute failure on Apollo 15 was due to the chute being cut up for collectors BEFORE the mission.

If you read the decription fully, the seller states that the photo is not of the actual item for sale. As for the Apollo 11 bit, well he probably used the same text from another auction but forgot to change the mission name!

IMHO,

I think this seller is full of BS and this is a piece of parachute material that he's making up bogus displays with.

First off there's no documentation, there's 3 different flights assigned to this piece and anyone who's going to have a rare artifact from ANY flown spacecraft would make sure to CLEARLY inform the sellers what this piece was from.

Looking at the rest of this sellers auctions, he's pretty good at making up displays to sell fragment pieces like Florian does. The difference is that Florian actually has documentation for the fragments he sells, you know exactly what you're buying and that it's not junk.

This Ebay seller is running a nice little scam, IMHO.

I was almost tempted on this one, but seeing that it is supposed to be Apollo 7 chute, and the picture is wrong showing Apollo 15 with 2 chutes it just doesn't do it for me. A while back when I first saw this I did email the seller and mentioned this. At the time he then added the comment that it was Apollo 15, but I just don't have a good feeling at all about that item.
