Hello everybody, I am looking for help on a few items.

1. Where can I authenticate Apollo items. My father worked for Grumman and I have many of his momentos. I have some batteries, Kapton film, and my favorite an early version of the plaque affixed to the ladder on Apollo 11. It is engraved/etched??? on a piece of soft light metal. It is not shinny and has some pitting on it from being in a basement for so long.

2. Does anyone have any info on the posters signed by Grumman employees who worked on each Apollo mission ???

Any info is much appreciated

bethpage02,

Re your owning a Grumman/Topping Lunar Module model. If you need help restoring your model, or maybe want someone to do it for you I know a very nice chap in California who may just be the guy you are looking for. I would not be so presumptuous to volunteer his services on his behalf but I can put you in touch with him...

Regards,

Rick.

I don't know if it is helpful but I have a plaque from the Grumman team that was given to Charlie Duke and it is signed by a bnch of engineers from the project. I've been trying ot find out more about the guys that signed it and the only site that has been helpful so far is: http://users.specdata.com/home/pullo

It is owned by a former Grumman engineer. He may be able to answer some questions for you as well. I sent him an email but didn't hear back from him but it seems others in the cS group have had contact wiht him.

HELLO BETHPAGE
MY FATHER WORKED OUT IN BETHPAGE FOR 40 YEARS. I REMEMBER HE CAME HOME WITH A POSTER OF APOLLO 11 THAT HAD THE NAMES OF ALL WHO HAD WORKED ON IT,ALONG WITH THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE ON THE CAPE.THERE MUST HAVE BEEN FIVE THOUSAND AUTOGRAPHS ON IT ALONG WITH THREE OR FOUR PHOTOS OF THE APOLLO 11 MISSION.ON THE BOTTOM IT SAID 'TAKEN FROM NEGATIVES FLOWN TO THE MOON ON APOLLO 11'.I THINK THEY WERE GIVEN TO ALL GRUMMAN EMPLOYEES.

Hi, thanks for replying and sorry I have not replied sooner. I did see the posters with all the signatures at "The Cradle of Aviation" museum on LI. They all said they are reproductions of negatives flown to the moon. I hope to find more info at the Grumman History Center in Bethpage.
