I am trying to find out anything I can about this sword. All I know now is that it was made by Wilkinson to be marketed by another company called British Colonial Imports (BCI) to commemorate the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. There were supposed to have been a total of 30 made, but even the company doesn't know for sure if that many were made. It has a walnut handle, brass hilt and an engraved steel blade. It also came with a walnut wall display mount. Is there anyone out there that has ever seen one of these or can tell me anything about the one I have? Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

I have one of these. I bought it in Upper Heyford where I was stationed during that time (7/20/69). There were supposedly 2000 to be made, but I don't know how many actually were. Mine is numbered 0069. I saw your query here, because I'm about to list mine on eBay this coming week. I've been trying to determine the interest for it. It is as you described; the blade has the Saturn 11 rocket, the Apollo 11, the Eagle lander, the moon, the American flag, and the date with "Apollo 11 Moon Landing 20-7-1969" engraved on it. The display rack (Walnut) with an engraved commemorative placque "to honor the achievement" with the Eagle Lander on it, the number 0069 and It's quite a beautiful piece. I've been waiting for the 35th anniversary (7/20/2004)to list it up for sale. Respond here or directly of interest on this. (eDataman@bellsouth.net)
