I just finished my daily scan of eBay for dubious material and wasn't disappointed. Presented with a Buy it Now of only $500, is a very "funny" STS-51L crew signed litho (2247025391).

It's always interesting to check Russian seller Maksuta's eBay material. He's the world's biggest supplier of ultra-rare Soyuz 11 crew signed items & now has two offered (2245770672). These rarely sell, but a while back one of his Soyuz 11 signed training photos was re-sold by a well-known space dealer for $4,000. Both his current Soyuz 11's are training photos.

Maksuta also is offering several "funny" ASTP crew signed items, including a flown ASTP crew signed cover with a BiN of $249 (2245771640), another similar ASTP cover signed by the 3 astronauts & 2 Cosmonauts, plus a signed postcard & a framed ASTP signed photo with autopens by Stafford & Brand.

Even "funny" Christa McAuliffe signed material pops up on eBay and it needs to be checked out by knowledgeable collectors before being bid on.
Some of us concerned collectors have noticed a lull in warnings & comments about dubious signature material on eBay & elsewhere, but the silence sure doesn't indicate anything is improving about slowing the parade of "atypical" signatures.

Bob- I couldn't agree with you more. The examples that I commented to you offlist were not the typical signatures one sees for these crews. I have identical signatures to the ones on Ebay which tells me autopen. Try signing your name 2 or 3 or 10 times. You will see similiarities but they will not be identical in every way like autopen machine signatures are. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for your post, Bob. Yes amazing how plentiful these Soyuz 11 crew "signed" items have become recently, as from all indications these men virtually did not sign anything as a crew. From your collectSPACE article, "The Rarest of them All":
