There's a new set of crew-signed pictures on e-Bay: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=jkrck98

Since I too can say "I'm no expert", would I still be right in saying these are all classic autopen examples?

They don't all match the autopen examples in the Resources section here but for me it's the ink 'blob' at the end of each line that stands out.

You are right. All the signatures on the 8x10 Apollo crew lithos are autopens.

I totally agree. Autopen all the way, especially the Stafford.

So you are saying that all of these crew lithos are autopens? I am not suggesting otherwise because I am have very little experence with autographs. I would have thought that autopened crew shots would have used the same color of ink on the three autographs. I only have one crew signed ligho and I got it from NASA in the early 80s after writting to Collins. I know that NASA would not have given out actual signed prints, especially in the early 80s. All of the autographs in my Apollo 11 signed litho are signed in black ink. The ones offered by this seller on e-bay are signed in different colors. Are different colors common on autopenned prints?

I agree when the seller says that he sent off for these prints that could mean anything, I could have sent off for (purchased) those prints.

What about this auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2214825443&category=14433

It shows the same photo but just signed by two crew members. The Schirra looks like two that I have on other items while the one you are calling autoprints does look too neat.

I have no interest in either auction, I am just looking for some information.

Thanks.

Mike

Yes, the Apollo ones.

These Schirra and Cunningham autographs are genuinely hand-signed.

Agree there's some issues with these, but what surprises me (taking up Mike Myer's point) is the fact that if they're all autopens, they'll be the first lithos I've ever seen that employ different ink colours.

Can anyone else with more experience verify whether these are all autopens or not?

Some people are clearly surprised by the idea of autopens in different inks. Certainly it's not something that is mentioned explicitly in the autopen article in the Resources section here. If people are using variations in ink color as a way of judging authenticity on crew photos maybe it should be added.

There is no reason at all that all autopens on a given photo would have to be the same color ink. I would not use that as a means of authentication.

I reviewed these again and the ONLY one I am not 100% sure is an autopen is the John Young on the Apollo 10 photo, and I am 90% sure it is an autopen.

Just heard back from seller.

He confirmed that he sent away and received these pics from JSC.

The AP 10 is autopen. 100% sure on the Stafford.
