I am looking for some additional information about the following space shuttle ground equipment tool, and in best case anyone who might offer me this one here: This so called Locking-T-Tool was used by the Closeout Crew for locking the main hatch prior launch. As I know, a 450 degree turn was necessary with that key, to finally lock the main hatch of the space shuttle. In total 18 of these keys were present. Does anyone have more information or even better pictures and further information. Anyone has something like this for sale? Any further information is most welcome! |

This response will fall under the realm of partly helpful, but mostly not.I am aware of at least one of these in private hands. For privacy, I will let them identify themselves if they so choose. I know because I communicated with the individual who owns it about a month ago about this and other items in their collection. Unfortunately, I got the impression they were not interested in parting with this tool/key or other parts of their collection at this time. | |
