This is a set of both a ~1/48 Thor Ablestar full stack contractor model and a massive, approximately 1/12th scale Thor Ablestar second stage with removable faring and payload. The set arrived to me with the rocket bell broken off and it lacked a payload entirely. I decided against any major paint or decal restorations on the Thor; it is missing some decals and there are some dings on the fins. I did clean both models thoroughly.
I 3D designed and printed a replica of a Transit-5BN satellite so the faring wasn't empty. I could not find another example of this model to determine what the original payload was for this particular model. If there are others out there, they are extremely rare.
I also added a custom holder, wood base and nameplate for the 1/12 Ablestar. Other than the missing original payload, the model is complete.
The Thor stack has its original, beautiful two-toned wood base. The rocket bell is milled aluminum, the body is wood.
Overall, I would say the condition of both items is good.
